I've eaten countless filets (? 18-30 ?) just like that from costco - I like that version since it's skinless... I've cooked most of them with a dried jerk seasoning & salt (something from the grocery spice isle).

Next time I get one I'll cook at least half of it just like yours.

OT: if you haven't - try Chris A's appetizer style salmon - I've made that >3-4 times using that same type of filet from costco...... it's good too! http://virtualweberbullet.com/salmon2.html

Looks perfect!!!
Since I have a Costco in Spain I always buy Salmon there. Sure it's different here than you country but it's the best salmon I ever eaten.
Is that a cedar plank?

I didn't realize it was skinless when I bought it, but that is truly the icing on the cake. Will give Chris' appetizer style salmon a try

Yes, cedar planks (took too full planks to fit that on)

I've put away many of these from CostCo. My family prefers them, as they find wild salmon too "salmony" (which is, of course, why I prefer wild when I can get it....) I second Clint's recommendation on the appetizer style preparation.....good stuff.

Looks great, Chuck!

Halibut fillets or steaks are my favorites but salmon is a close second. Nothing wrong with farmed. Sometimes that's all you can get. Yours looks delicious Chuck.

This is the salmon I prefer. Don't care for the skin on at Costco. Family loves their farm raised.

Looks tasty!

Having worked in the fishing industry and having friends and family that still do I just can't buy farmed fish.

Looking good! I love the Costco salmon. No skin and they always seems "fresh". Their steelhead fillets are good too.

Looks great. I plan to gets some salmon from Sam's soon and do that.

Washington Post assembled a panel of chefs, restaurateurs, and food writers to taste test salmon identically prepared by a chef.

The ten fish tested included wild king from Washington, frozen farmed from Costco, and eight in between.

The judgments were definitive, and surprising. Farmed salmon beat wild salmon, hands down. The overall winner was the Costco frozen Atlantic salmon (Norwegian), added to the tasting late in the game — to provide a counterpoint to all that lovely fresh fish, we thought.

There is an important caveat about the winning salmon: It was packed in a 4 percent salt solution. Many of the tasters noted, and liked, the saltiness.

The next three top-rated fish, with closely grouped scores, also were farmed.

It was also the cheapest of the ten fish by about $5 per pound. https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...2650a2-1fcb-11e3-8459-657e0c72fec8_story.html
