Costco Coup D'etat

The CEO and myself went to pick up some items at Costco, I was checking the meats as I always do and I saw two packages of USDA Prime NY Strips very very cheap. I knew something was wrong as the other packages in the rack were $50 and up.
Being a good guy I knocked on the glass and got one of the Butchers. I showed him the two packages and asked him is there something I am not seeing here. He said no, someone screwed up and mis-marked them. He checked the rest and saw they were correct. He handed me back the two packages and smiled and said "Enjoy Them"

Nice score Bill!

To me, even Costco's Choice grade is usually at the high end of the grading scale.
The steaks I find at most regular grocery stores are at the mid to lower level.
Case in point, Choice ribeyes purchased last week at Costco with near Prime marbling:

I think Costco sells the best steaks, always consistently tender and well marbled, but $7.29 per lb for Prime NY is outstandingly ridiculous. Great find Bill.

You're a good man Bill and good things happen to good people. I can't wait to see the finished product. I need to age steaks like this but can't until I find a second fridge for the garage. My sweetheart doesn't eat red meat and there is no....no way that she would ever allow me to age meat in the common use fridge.
