Cornells, banking summer away

Couple weeks back down the page, a Cornell chicken post made me drool a bit and think it's been way too long. And I had an agenda to use a bunch of yard bird.

Tomatoes on charcoal, final destination tomato basil soup.

Jim Beam isn't by any means one of my go-to whiskeys, but... when you need some bourbon that'a pretty reasonable price to go with some peaches, and the gas station a quarter mile away has it, it'll work. And, it'll be plenty serviceable for some Mint Juleps with peach juice for sweetener instead of simple syrup. (Highly recommend.)

Somewhere in here, momma bear started sourdough again. She's not pleased with how it looks, but I promise it tasted great.

One week's worth of work. I'm trying to get some ten minute meals on the shelf for busy nights later, kind of a time sink right now but I t think it will be nice to have chicken vegetable soup and corn chowder sitting there with nobody having to cook or think a day ahead about getting something out of the freezer.

Ruger hasn't given up on the season yet either, he's still out frogging.

Looks great Clay.
I especially like the tomato’s.
Never done them like that.
Can you taste the bbq in them?

I find that JB is good when you don’t want the sweetness of JD.
Bulluet (sp?) bourbon is a good midway taste between those two.
