Cleaning 1998 Burner Tubes

I think I have a full set of those burners in good shape plus the XOver for it as well. I can look tomorrow. No use for them here now
OK I found the burners. Good news is the 3 mains are near perfect and OEM solid 304SS non mag. Bad news is these are slightly later versions I guess. Top ported center but all still even have the original undamaged plastic spider guards. Other bad news, I found the XOver but it's as holy as the pope himself. But, if someone wants a near perfect and still a little bit shiny set of main burners I have them

What do you mean by top ported center? It looks like your center burner has side slits for the gas?

Be careful, that is a symptom of Weberitis. It leads to other addictions.
Yep --- it sucks when you 'feel the need to get tools for a task' thinking it will be used for other purposes...... only to find that you haven't used it for 2-3-4 years or more...... Ask me how I know..... Its better to 'know people with the tools you need'......

Also, ive been told that using a steel wire wheel on stainless steel can lead to contamination by mixing the different metals causing the stainless steel to develop rust. I dont know if any of you have experienced that or not since i know alot here are using wire wheels to polish everything.

I like the nylon wheels. They are more expensive than the wire but alot less then a stainless wheel.

I domt mind Ill use the bench grinder for many things and its a cool old school tool that I will likely also refurbish so all good. And it was only 25 bucks. Just about the cost of the wheel itself.

Search Amazon nylon deburing wheels. These are solid scotch brite type material for bench grinders. 180g will make your stainless almost polished.

Back when I had race shop we polished and cleaned up lots of parts with the kind of wheels. Not cheap but work well and come in different grits and hardness. Maybe take rust off with nylon bristles then polish with these.
