Chicken thighs in cider vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, whole pepper corns, bay leaves and about a half head of garlic peeled in a pot.

About 20 minutes of cooking, the thighs went direct to get a little color on them then they went back into the pot.

About an hour total cook time the chicken is done

Our usual side dish, Normandy veggies cooked in the wok.

Looks delicious! Chicken and veggies look great. Do you season the veggies in the wok? I've been using a Chinese 5-spice blend with a splash of lime juice lately.

Very nice meal, John! I don't believe I've ever seen or heard of that vegetable combination (broccoli, carrots, cauliflower) before...is it a southern CA thing?

Yes I do and I usually season the veggies with Cajun seasoning but I am out at the moment so I used some Greek seasoning this time. Sometimes I also will finish them with a pat or two of real butter.

I'm not sure if it is a SoCal thing or not but I see it everywhere. Sams, Costco, every grocery chain carries it. It is in the frozen vegetable section and we eat a lot of it. I have seen it called California vegetable blend or Normandy Style Vegetable blend. I believe the only difference is the Normandy style comes with yellow squash too.
