Chicken / Bacon / Ranch Salad

I almost put this in the healthy grilling forum hahaha

The chicken was marinated for about an hour in Wishbone Italian dressing, then onto the grill with about 3/4 pound of bacon:

The chicken finished up before (and started after) the bacon. This looks like it's almost there:

Three slices of bacon, chopped, 1 large & 2 small thighs, sprouts, green leaf lettuce, some raw beets, a chopped onion slice...........some baby carrots...a pickled egg, some croutons, & some home made jalapeno ranch. That's an iced tea, earl gray.... I grabbed a few samples the other day, and overdid it Friday & Saturday...not drinking tonight.

Here's what it looks like after I took after it with some tongs:

I did a little hiking today - went to it yesterday but it was too windy & had dark clouds....found out it was hailing...

Wow Clint - that is my kind of salad. Love the grilled bacon too. Beautiful country you have there - it must be great to get away for a few hours there...

Regards,

John

Nothing better than that exact salad for a summer weekend lunch or dinner.

How many head of mule deer did you see??

Salad look's great Clint, So does the view of the mountains & i think your dog was hoping you'd turn your back for a minute looks like he was going snatch a piece of chicken or two.
Clint where did you find the tea at, Like to get some for my dad.

A fine looking salad, Clint. It probably would have qualified for the Healthy Grilling forum…aaaaand then the bacon showed up and made a good salad even better.

That is definitely a great looking meal Clint! Very nice

Thanks Cliff!

I try to get out at least a couple of times per week.

Not any! Only squirrels & bugs........ I try to make good time, I stopped for a few pictures, & asked anyone stopped if they saw anything. Last time there was a momma & a baby moose.

I made a triple batch of New England Clam Chowder again yesterday afternoon, she got several chunks of bacon....I did too, had to hide it from myself in the microwave. Today she just got tid bits of chicken & an over-ripe peach that she wasn't all that excited about.

For the teas....... my two favorites are these...

Green Tea Garden - This is probably my favorite because I've probably bought 8 pounds of it for me, but I got tired of it a couple months ago so I mix it with plain green tea or sometimes earl gray. It's good.

Earl Grey

I don't care so much for their English or Irish Breakfasts....probably English breakfast is better, but I've been drinking a lot of 50% diluted earl grey tea lately. More since I "cut out" coffee (instead of 1-2 pots a day, maybe a cup every week) I always seem to forget how much better I feel without coffee....after ~10 days or so.

I've got a lot of their other flavors, Chai, Yerba Mate (yuk!).... but those two linked are my favorites.

I have an old leaky electric iced tea machine, I saw one of these at Walmart the other day for $15, I'll probably go back for it but I have a few other ways to make it.

Very nice salad Clint, I noticed a pair of eyes guarding your grill. Great pictures of your hike too.

That's my kind of salad Clint, I could eat one everyday. Love the mountains they look awesome.

Love the cook and the hiking area. Heading up to South Lake Tahoe this weekend, should be able to get some good elevation change hikes in

I'm hoping El Nino brings you some much needed water! I'd sure like to explore the Sierras.......and the Cascades......

I've brought the mountain bike out of retirement.........it hasn't seen much use since I hurt my thumb in 2012 (couldn't shift easily). It's another kicker.... I've only hit 3 good rides (dirt) on it so far....a few other attempts, but working on it myself has taken time. (I like to fix my stuff myself)
