I am going to cook two chickens and want to smoke some ham hocks at the same time. What would be the best way to arrange the hocks, on the bottom or top grate?

You had to go and remind me that I didn't do my annual batch of ham hocks, and so, am reduced to BUYING them!! The shame!
Fortunately, there's a great german butcher nearby, with great german hocks that he has smoked well (Chris knows who I'm talking about....)
Put the hocks on top. I don't think I'd be all that fired up about chicken juice dripping on the ham hocks....

Thanks for the reply; I thought your explanation would be the correct way to arrange my cook, but I wasn’t quite sure. Sorry about reminding you about the hocks but I’m sure the German hocks are great.
