Cedar Wrapped Salmon

Tonight's dinner turned out pretty good. I've done cedar planked salmon many times, but tonight I tried cedar wrapped salmon. I wrapped some Asparagus in along with it. Cooked indirect with some Cherry wood for smoke. Pulled it off at about 135°. The wife made a really good corn and avocado salad to go along with it that was amazing.

First I had to find the grill and get it warmed up (easier said than done after the weather we've had)

Soaked the cedar wraps for about 5 minutes first. Wrapped up the salmon with 4 pieces of asparagus. The salmon was marinated in a Grill Mates Hawaiian marinade. It wasn't the best. Probably won't buy it again.

Thanks for looking!

Cant say I've seen the thin wraps, have to start looking for them now! Nice cook!

I have only seen them used by an Executive Chef we were interviewing to work at my hotel. I thought they looked really cool, but never found any until now. I got these from Wal-Mart right with the charcoal.

These pic's make me hungry, a half hour AFTER lunch. I've done a lot of salmon on cedar planks, but never wrapped them. Corn salad looks delicious. Looking at all these snowy pic's today makes me envious. Nothing but drought out here. Good job.
