It's a vintage grill press. Just did a Google image search and it came up.

that's what THOSE folks are saying it is....I did find something different. Scroll down and it's in Spanish and says it is for a Jenn Air Stove.

Correct! I recognized it right away — we used to have a JennAir stove, and I cleaned those darned things many times. There are actually a pair of them; they sit under the grill element, and the wire supports the element. The holes allow grease to fall into the drip pan.I did find something different. I can't really picture that. A Broiler heats from above. Did these hang below the food or above? What was there purpose? I suppose the guy I got the grill from used it as a press since I found it on the grill.Correct! I agree. We bought a module shortly after moving into that house. I did use the griddle a lot for breakfast though. Cleanup for that was easier. We moved out of that house a year ago, and I much prefer the kitchen in the new house. Folks before us put some really nice (and pricey) appliances in there.Had a Jenn-air stove once with the grill insert. What a stupid idea. It gives you a 2-burner stove and a useless grill. You use it once and then order a module with 2 burners to replace it. 15 minutes of grilling and 2 hours of cleanup.
I meant to type "grill element", not "broiler". My bad.I can't really picture that. A Broiler heats from above. Did these hang below the food or above? What was there purpose? I suppose the guy I got the grill from used it as a press since I found it on the grill.
