Our second night and cook #2 on the Mini was Tri Tip, the family favorite. I used the KISS and authentic approach for this cook using just Salt, Pepper, Garlic powder.

seasoned and ready to go

there are two on the bottom grate that you can't see, four total
using Red Oak for the smoke

I think because the Mini was so full, the temp didn't get above 200*, should have started with more lit briqs. Let them go for an hour while throwing on some COTC on the Q200

When the corn was done cranked up the Q and finished a few minutes with a "Sear in the Rear" for some char marks and flavor!

The Mini worked out great and made for many Happy Campers on this trip!

Thanks for looking

Nice! When I so TT on my mini, I cook it until 130 degrees and then sear it on the BBQ portion of my mini. But with four, that would be a little hard to do

Doug;
Those mini's are amazing! I have found with mine, that if you just let it go with a large load of meat, as the meat nears the "done" stage the temps will rise and surprisingly, the cook doesn't seem to take any/much longer that if you had let it get hotter before you put that large load of meat on.

At any rate, you had a nice cook and apparently satisfied a bunch of campers. Tri-tip and Corn - WOW!

Keep on smokin',

Looks yummy Doug!...one of these days I'm going to cook up some tri tips...have yet to do them here at Chez Jake's :)

Good looking food. Great use of your Q grill together with the mini. I have used mine together also for reverse searing. They work great together.
