Rising from the ashes of the devastating Tubbs Fire in Santa Rosa, CA on October 9, 2017, Sweet T's Restaurant & Bar reopened a few miles to the north in Windsor, CA on March 7, 2019. It's a classy restaurant with a lot more going on than just barbecue, but the barbecue alone is worth the visit.
Sweet T's offers table service with wait staff at walnut tables with chair and booth seating, smoked meats served on white ceramic plates with knives and forks and cloth napkins, and an open kitchen concept like you'd find in any high-end Wine Country restaurant--no corrugated metal or typical BBQ joint theming here. Prices are quite high as a result, but everything we tried during our visit on February 13, 2024 was on-point, except for the hot link which we didn't care for at the time (but tasted better as a leftover at home). Brisket was tender, spareribs were perfectly smoked and tender, pulled pork was moist, mac & cheese was smooth and creamy (but cheese sauce just a bit thin), fries were hot and abundant, and the biscuit with honey butter was delicious. Barbecue sauce was served on the side, a tomato-based sweet sauce with a fair amount of heat.
The quantity of food was generous, we could not eat all that we were served and had to take leftovers home. We will definitely be back, but for a special occasion given the prices...$42 for a three-meat plate, brisket $19/half pound, and a $10 sausage link...but not unexpected in pricey Wine Country.
