I was just looking at the brochure and wonder why there is a difference in BTU. I thought the Silver, Gold and Platimun had the same firebox and same burners. But there is a 3,000 BTU difference. Did they use different valves with a bit more throuput on the Gold and Platinum?

When I sold art materials I had one salesman that used to refer to that color as “bur Gun dy”

Could it be that it has a side burner that adds the extra BTUs?

I think the side burners are about 10,000 BTU.

Have a look at the brochure that Chris linked above. The burner adds another 10k BTUh across the board, except for the Platinum C that has a 14k burner. So now there are two mysteries to be solved...but it could be as simple as going up a size or two on the orifice.
