@Eric-NH a standard lid canning jar fits the grease catch perfectly. My vintage jars have glass inserts in the lids that just need to be removed and then you stick the jar through the holder and then screw the lid on without the lid insert. Any newer glass canning jar with a standard opening lid would work. Just have to remove the metal insert on the newer jar lids.

I think the blue is a great choice if you can find one. I think they are making the blue ones again as well. But, I think it is just cool that it makes it so easy to see just how full the container is at any given time.

It was a top of the line unit back in the day. It must have been at least forty years old when I finally had to replace it because you couldn't get parts for it anymore.
It's amazing to me the cool small details on vintage things that have been lost/forgotten or just deleted many years ago. Simple details that work well. It's just interesting to me and I find myself preferring the old tech over the new stuff.

I picked up some folding locking shelf brackets and some nuts, bolts and washers and some 1/2" x 1/4" flat stock steel to fabricate the front flip table today. I took my time to measuring everything and bent the steel into removable hanging brackets. I also got the IPE Ironwood (Brazilian Walnut) cut and routered for it. I still need to finish the wood and screw it to the brackets but first I will take everything apart and clean and repaint everything before I install the wood and all the other new parts. I'm happy with how the brackets turned out and I'm one step closer to finishing.

I was dead set on finding an original pair of fixed table brackets but I think I will like these custom removable flip table brackets I made. It takes away from the originality a bit but I think it will be a worthwhile upgrade. If I decide I don't like them for any reason they are removable without any damage.
