Brisket or Butt on top?

Getting ready to smoke an 11.5 lb whole brisket and a boston butt of the same weight (before trimming) with my 18.5. Does it matter which piece is on the top/bottom grate as far as drippings go? Going to try and run at 250,probably 12 + hr range.I have hickory and cherry on hand,was planning to use both. Just got done installing Weber silicone grommet so I can use the 6741 Weber thermometer for the first time.Think this addiction thing has a hold of me....!!

I recommend butt over brisket.

My weekend smoke after installing grommet and using the new 6741 dual probe thermometer.Worked great as I had never used anything but standard dome thermometer.Butt went for over 13hrs and brisket 10.5. Note the light spot on brisket where butt drippings pooled.No ill effects.Shared with friends and all enjoyed!!
