Breaking in the new digs

Now that I finally have a free weekend in the new home I've put two big butts on the WSM for a "thank you" meal for the people who helped us move on the two hottest days in a century. Two 9 lb butts on tonight, a little 4 lb'er in the morning, the fixin's made tomorrow, and a hungry crowd on the way! Can you tell I appreciate these folks?!

I pulled the two big boys off the wsm around 2 and the little one is plateaued. It's not needed until tomorrow, so it can hang on as long as it needs to. The two I have in wraps are beautiful! I went with a lower temp than usual: 230. The weather was perfect, I used my guru for safety, and they took 16 hours. The beauty of it all is that the tight minion pack is still running strong! I added about 20 unlit coals when I took off the big two, but boy do I love this wsm! I can already hear the, "That's the best bbq I've ever eaten!"

Since I would have helped you move had you asked, can I come to the party, too?

Sooooo Larry, you say you moved? Just courrious where did you move to. I was thinking I might like to see the place. Would tomorrow work for you?

Larry, you'd have been welcome, and you likely should have come, because the q was particularly good and I had to keep 18 adults from licking the pan. Otherwise honest people kept referring to "the best bbq I've ever eaten." Then I hit the miserably full people with a dessert that was mind blowing. Needless to say, I finally had to run everyone off, as I assume they were waiting for something else incredible to come from the kitchen! And to top it all off, it was an educational night for all and a near sales seminar for Weber! I'm satisfied!
