Tried something new with some apples and raisins. Used some butter, maple syrup, brown sugar and some granola on them. Did it open, then realized the dry heat was starting to burn the raisins, so I foiled it for a bit. Also made some migas, Addie's favorite!

Came out great!

Thanks for looking!

Holy WOW! My son is having 6 of his friends over next weekend for a bonfire camp out 13th birthday party. This looks like just the thing to serve 7 hungry boys after a night in the woods! J, If you don't mind, please give some more details on the apples and raisins. (What temp, how long, how much....) that plated pic looks totally awesome!
Thanks,
Tim

Thanks! It was a spur of the moment thing, but I will try to re-create as best as I can. This skillet has two apples and a handful of raisins in it. I thing these are Cortland or Gala apples...ones on the softer side that break down quicker. I put on probably a half a tablespoon of maple syrup, a tablespoon of brown sugar and a teaspoon or so of cinnamon (I did not measure anything, so these are just guesses). I put it on indirect. I was going for a not to exceed of around 350, but did not measure temps. I just stirred it every 5-10 mintues and turned the skilled make sure it was heating evenly and not burning. After about 20 minutes, the apples were soft and everything was basically starting to break down. That is when I put on the granola to sop up the liquid and I left it on for a few more minutes to warm up and brown. I recommend foiling from when you put it on the fire up until you put the granola on. After that you can remove the foil (if it is not smoking too much) and turn the skillet once or twice to make sure it warms evenly.

Hope this helps!

Forgot to mention, there is a bit of butter (a few tablespoons) cut up on top of the apples....
