Howdy folks and happy Saturday nite! Got a real treat today...my TVWBB shirts came (thanks Chris they are awesome!)

Had to cook something and get some Charcoal smell on the new shirt so we decided on brats and onion rings! Cooked some chicken breasts stuffed with wild rice and mushrooms served with roasted squash and steamed veggies last nite, but the pictures were Terrible so I didn't post it but it did come out real tasty and the squash with some wood smoke cooked on the grill was super! Here's what the plated version looked like!

Ok on with the cook! Here's the scene..my cast iron carefully fitted in the grate hole with onion soaked in butter milk for a tad and battered up and fried!

Better view of the fryer!(at this point the rain really started coming down!)

Added some beer brats around the ring of oil!

Things were finishing up!! Bit of a trick to pull the pan of 500degree hot oil in a rain storm but had to be done! Brats started squirting right into the hot oil and started splattering everywhere!
Got some peppers and onion going!

And all up! Served with red rooster mayo, hot mustard and the brats(went bun less tonight) and a ok pumpkin brew I found today!

Oh man!!! It all looks great, Morgan. I'm sure it was very tasty!! I'm surprised to see that Buffalo Bill's made it all the way up there. BB's is about 10 minutes from my house! I'm not big on Pumpkin Ale, but they do make some great beer. And their food is good too.

Another great cook, man!

Mike

Great cook regardless of weather and even more impressive in driving rain! I wondered about splattering hot grease when I saw that setup and read that it was raining. That must have been pretty sporty! Wonderful looking plate!

Lookin nice, those onion rings look delicious, do you have a recipe for the batter?

Thanks folks...Mike the batter recipe was as follows:

2 eggs
1 12oz lager style beer(I used "red stripe")
2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt

Wisk eggs...add beer and wisk that...add1 1/2 cups flour and salt and mix until smooth.
The other one cup of flour you dredge the onion in prior to dipping in the batter (actually found this to be a waste. The batter was super thick)

That's it...fry it up!
