Blue/Sidewinder/330/Restoration/Could Go Any Direction

Thanks...I usually do a trex floor and outboard the tank....but the last couple of them sold a little slower with several requests to relocate the tank.

View attachment 116603on my last flip I used an NG floor and just cut the hole with a jigsaw. I painted both sides and edges to prevent future rust.
Looks great! I have done several keeping the tank on the inside with the big hole and they have been great!Screenshot_20250722_191117_Photos.jpg

I think I want to do this one with a solid floor and outboard tank. My theory is that the floor will be stronger and maybe hold up better without the tanks going in and out. I'm still deciding though. Just going to make decisions as I go.

Im definitely going to do full blackout this time including the table end caps at control panel end caps. Like I have been doing on my Genesis ii blackout Restorations. With Blue Lid and doors this time

This will be the last grill from this era that I do so I want to make it great. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Probably donate it. Dan has dibs because the blue lid and doors was his idea.
Dan who?

I’ve had plenty of seized pins on the older ones. The only one I had a mighty struggle with was the Genesis Gold I did. I’ve had great luck lately with freezing them up with a vice grips. It wrecks the pins… but I’ve got tons of those.

If you were closer Josh, I'd buy it from you after its fully restored, but it's about $400 in gas round trip plus time I just don't have right now. It will be a beauty I'm sure. Some day I'll find one near me.

Glad I decided to outboard the tank. I always considered that a second choice for some reason but after doing it I think it's better at least in my opinion. The floor feels much more solid and rigid without the big hole in it and I like the look of the tank on the outside.
