I found a craigslist WSM for my grandson, Blake, a few weeks ago, he is so happy you would have thought I gave him a thousand bucks!
He cooked for us on my 2 day visit a couple of weeks ago.
First a rib roast, with kielbasa, and pork steaks.
Montreal Steak Seasoning on the roast.
His buttered/spiced onions direct on the coals, the way he always makes them, and a method I will mimic.
Cookin'
Steaks and sausage ready, a bit longer for the rib roast.
Roast done.
Sliced.
The Blakester ready to chow down.
(notice where his eyes are focused)
My plate.
Two thumbs way up for dinner, now let's see the next morning's breakfast.
Blake put Weber's Steak & Chop rub on the tri-tip, and I whipped up some bacon cornbread for the kettle.
Meanwhile my daughter made scratch blueberry muffins.
Tri tip done.
Sliced.
My plate with farm fresh eggs and morel mushrooms.
Another fantastic meal!
Blake, so far, has made successful cooks of spares, tri tip, and a pork shoulder on his WSM.
Gramps is going to take over a brisket for him to make soon!
Hope to get him posting his own cooks, but I think he's still a little intimidated with the whole process right now.
That concludes the cook pics, but with about 200 shots taken during my 2 day stay, I wanted to share a few more, for anyone interested.
Our morel finds after our big breakfast.
I only found one
A few of the egg providers.
Future egg providers getting a little free range time.
I may be old, but I'm still a chick magnet
Brooke wasn't allowed to play with the chickies.
Chillin' while Blake was grillin'
Bonfire.
Sunset, and the end of this long post.
Thanks for viewing!
(Chris A, if this is more than should be posted at one time, please let me know.)
