This past weekend was a good friend's birthday so decided to throw him a little party complete with tons of meat and goodies. As everyone likes their drinks during the day we decided to make this more of a daytime event. We first started off with some pulled pork on homemade delicious brioche bread (courtesy of Kate). I was pretty bad at getting pictures during the day due to the constant flux of people.
Action shot of it being smoked, this is near the end probably been on for about 13 or so hours.
I pulled it and walked about for about 2 minutes to grab my phone to take a picture and by then ti was already almost all gone. Brioche bread on the far right, friend Sam's pickles in the jar, carolina style bbq sauce in the squirt bottle, and some baby rays:
Next up were the ribs. Just a 3 pack of baby backs from costco. Rubbed and prepped:
Threw them on the smoker just as the pork was finishing up below:
They ended up being amazing, one of my better cooks, just delicious and tender with great flavor. Unfortunately not a great shot of them post smoke:
From there has 3 rib eyes (1 was previously frozen) frmo Costco. Salted them up and let them sit out for a bit:
Plated with creamed spinach and aligot (french mashed potatoes) which Kate made (http://www.annies-eats.com/2010/04/07/aligot-french-mashed-potatoes/), I highly recommend trying them, they are out of this world:
All in all was a great cook. We ended up not needing the wings which I had marinading in two different ones, an asian marinade and then a tequila lime one. We grilled those up the following day and they were amazing, but was too lazy to snap some shots.
Until next time,
Daum
