Since today was my birthday I decided that I wanted to try a old favorite on the rotten green egg. Baby backs, sauerkraut, dumplings & potatoes. My wife usually does this in the crock pot. Came out delicious, fall off the bone tender. All that is left is the bones & empty bottles.
here was my plate before I ate it all up. Very good.
Cooked it all up in the old CI.
Deb made up the dumplings, then added them to the sauerkraut, potatoes & ribs. Cooked at 280 for about 5 hours total.
Added sauerkraut to the ribs. Along with brown sugar, S&P and garlic salt.
Started out with browning the ribs in the CI till nice & brown. Then simmered about a hour and half at 280.

Dear Russ,

That looks very good. When I do pork and kraut I do it the old style way we do things in Central PA and make it in the oven like it has been done for centuries.

I now have a new way to try it thanks to you.

OOPS, I forgot to say Happy Birthday!

Regards,

Tim Murphy :D
