BIG Q, From the Counter to the Tailgate.......

Glenn W

TVWBB Guru
This is my 1st big cook. Friend asked me to cook for a b-day party of 75-125 folks. I used the pulled pork rub from pg 283 of the Weber's Way To Grill book. Chile powder, K salt, gran garlic, black pepper, dry mustard. I added some brown sugar and white sugar to the rub as well.
8 7lb butts bone in. Lump with apple and cherry wood.

I used Lawry's poultry seasoning on 24 leg qtrs. Lump with cherry and maple wood.

I ran both pans dry with foil. Butts cooked at 250 and chicken at 230 then I filled the OTG with lump and seared them on both sides.

It is so cool to feed Q virgins (real q) and watch them bow to you!

Over and over compliments and compliments.

It's nice to see that baby loaded down. I can see it was a hit. How was the Lawry's on the chicken? Great work Glen, it must have been loads of fun.

Thanks for asking Shaun, I like it very much, it has become my go to on poultry. I'm sure there are better seasonings but its good IMO.

Mr. Correll, It was a mega humid/hot day! After 4hrs of yard work and tending this Q, I will get hydrated by Wednesday I hope!

I wanted to take more pics but this was a busy event
