Anyone ever heard of a Beef Rib Steak. The inlaws butchered a cow and we got part of it. I have 3-4 of these things and not sure what it is.
Either way I'm gilling one for dinner tonight :p

I'm thinking that is what it is as well after opening the butcher paper. Kind of has a ovenmit shape to it as the bones havent been cleaned.

It's a bone in rib steak.

Probably looks like this.

Has nice marbling. Just scrape off the saw residue and grill to medrare. You don't always get real pretty cuts from home raised beef but it usually tastes great. Best beef I ever ate was home raised, didn't hurt that 3 months before the thing had chased me across a field and over a fence. I got the last laugh.

Bone in ribeye. $14-$16/lb. The official Steak of Texas (or it should be). Bone gnawing at its finest.

For fun, google Tomahawk Steak. Go to Images. See how these are trimmed. Some are huge served with the whole rib bone. Please do not waste any of the tasty meat by trimming.

Enjoy!

Pics from last nights steak out.

Spiced them up with some Tony's and threw them on the heat.

Pretty good. A little overdone but had a good taste.
