Beautiful Red Kettle I picked up for free

I have been refurbishing Webers now for 3 years, in those three years I have worked on and rebuilt at least 400. 50 of them so far this year. So occasionally I come across one that gets me so excited I have to share. I picked this 22 inch kettle up for from from a garage sale as they were moving things to the road. As the guy said, it is old and hasn't been used in probably 20 years. These are the before pics as I started stripping her down and cleaning. The grates will be replaced as well as the one touch cleaning system. I need to find handles for it and she will be ready to go. Now, I am not getting younger and my eyes are getting weaker, so looking at the Damper I see it is either a G (my thoughts) or a C. Either way she is beautiful as I have already got the lid and bowl cleaned up. Love working on the older webers, bringing history back. As always thanks to you folks for getting me hooked and giving me so much advice. 20210808_160353.jpg20210808_160359.jpg20210807_184856.jpg20210808_160409.jpg20210808_160418.jpg20210808_160424.jpg20210808_160455.jpg

Horace,
Good to see a post from you. I am sorry if I missed some. That is a nice candidate from when a Weber kettle was the real deal. Look forward to seeing what you do with it. There are a couple options for nice wood handles with laser etched Weber logos. Do some searching here and you will find posts about them.

Thank you, yes it has been a while since my last post but I do check in occasionally to see what is happening. Already researching handles. Found a few nice ones. But defiantly trying to stay to as original as possible.

Oh man, that is so nice. Looking for one myself but pickings seem slim in my area. I'd recommend River City Woodworks on Facebook for handles.

Finished this grill and love the brightness and beauty of it. I only replaced the grates and had to make a new handle for the lid. Just posted on marketplace. On to the next.
