Noticed last night - that bbqparts.com just posted - they are offering an exact fit porcelain coated pull out try for the old Weber Genesis series. Oem part number was 40968012. It’s listed in their parts list for Genesis 1000. $64.99 plus $9.89 shipping. Looks good. I am getting one.

I hope it is a remanufacture rather than a find of a couple on a dusty shelf 😯

Actually - brand new. Just got one and it is shiny, black porcelain, - same dimensions as original and even the screw holes match - they have two pictures - top and bottom - on their website bbqparts.com. They only charge 9.89 shipping via UPS and I checked out UPS - actual shipping is about $20.00. So Ok. FYI

Would you be willing to post a few pics of it?

This is great news that someone somewhere is manufacturing a replacement for the “Achilles heel” of these otherwise bulletproof (early Genesis series) grills.

The irony to me is that they are available now when these early Genesis grills are becoming so rare on the second hand market around these parts.

It has come to my attention that Russell is the owner of BBQparts.com. I've been in touch with him regarding posting about his own business, a violation of forum Terms of Service, and closed his account.

Mine arrived today and, while I don’t care for or condone the deceptive practices, the product is acceptable. Acceptable doesn’t mean without flaws, though. The weight seems right on point and the rolled lips and holes are right in line with OEM. The porcelain leaves something to be desired, however. Both of mine arrived with a chip in the same underside corner of the tray and the porcelain is identifiable as quite thin as a result. There are also some waves that are visible in the flat surfaces of the porcelain as well. All things considered, these trays serve their purpose and fill a hole in the market so I will keep them rather than return them. At the same time, I’ll probably blacklist BBQparts.com for anything that I can source elsewhere due to the shenanigans here.

Thanks for the review Tom.
