Baby backs and breakfast peppers

We had a helicopter here spraying Saturday and some other stuff going on that pretty much prevented me from doing any real cooking on GF-1, but in the spirit of it I will put up a couple things I did manage to throw together in the last week.

Used up a package of baby backs.

Cheesy corn bread bake, trying to get rid of the last of last year's frozen sweetcorn.

Made slaw from apples and a couple kohlrabis out of the garden, and finished off with Mojitos.

Some more garden veggies to use up for breakfast.

It's hard to prep food outside sometimes.

Diced the tomatoes, and scrambled eggs with browned sausage.

This was a bit of an experiment, but I finally managed to get the peppers balanced at the center of a ring of charcoal in my Performer and filled to the top.

A little cheddar on top to finish, and time to put some toast on.

It was tasty enough to try doing again!

Wow good looking, need more details on the Cheesy cornbread dish. Nice looking cats, don't they know your not suppose to play with your food! O that's right their meat eaters. Nice pics.

Kittens are available for adoption! The corn bread was no secret recipe, just corn meal, corn, flour, butter, egg, S&P, and a little cheese on top thrown together in a few minutes.

Yeah, I'm stealing that pepper idea. I'll need to fashion something to use as a ring to hold it up, since I'll probably only be doing one or two for myself.

I'm going to rummage through our scrap iron and try to find something like that for next time. We have a couple 6" and 8" diameter steel auger tubes around, I'm thinking a piece of them cut about 3" deep would be just right. It was a super easy thing to cook, except for getting the darn peppers to hold themselves in place.

I never would have thought of ever cooking eggs in a pepper but that is something I'm going to have to try. I'd love to learn to fly that helicopter as well but that definitely ain't gonna happen.
