Apple wood bark

I just purchased some apple wood on the internet. i plan to use in somking butts. It almost has some bark on all pieces, is it OK to use with the bark on the wood?

Yes. I have no problem with bark. Some people don't like it. I've never seen logs with the bark removed at any pits I've been to.

i use apple wood with bark all the time.
some folks say the bark causes bitterness...
doesn't bother me at all.

just finished smoking ribs using both apple and cherry with bark. No bitterness at all.

Too late now.

Bark won't hurt you. It gets the juices flowing.

Don't worry about the bark. I never remove bark, even on oak unless it's ready to fall off.
