Anyone tried these

Reading the reviews it sounds like they are poorly sized such that the bottom row stands too tall not allowing the top row to sit properly in their slots. Too bad, because a low cost solution for the older Genesis 13 bar grills would be really nice.

I had a set of those last year. The top row stands to high,
and I had a use a cut off wheel to notch out all 4 corners
of each bar in order for them to sit properly.
I would NOT recommend this product.

Dave, is it the top row or the bottom row that is the problem?

How hard was it to notch out the bars to make them fit. Maybe it is worth doing for 16 ga SS bars?

The seller must see the reviews on those and know that there is something wrong with the design. Why wouldn't he fix them? In fact, he could probably save a little on materials.

Top row. All 8 bars, 32 corners, 64 cuts. I used a cut off wheel, so while not hard, just a p.i.t.a task. I would also dispute the 16 gauge claim. 18 would be more like it.

Seems to me that Qlimetal should get in on this niche. There aren't a lot of non-premium costing options for 13-bar flavorizer replacements, at least that I know of.

Dave. Did you use a dremel tool or die grinder with cut off wheel?

I think the little bit of time to do this for a flip would be worth it.
