Anyone Kamado cook their turkey? (forgiveness please!)

My 18/lb Butterball will fit the Performer, but not much room left at the lid, so I'm wondering how evenly it will cook and brown.
It will fit my Kamado with plenty of room to spare, but I have not used that grill a whole lot and don't want to screw up T-Day dinner.
My only WSM is the 14" since I sold my 18" after getting the Kamado.

Any experiences, thoughts, or tips appreciated.

No personal experience cooking a turkey on one. But I can tell you that after owning one for only a month or so, my brother-in-law produced an amazing turkey on his last Thanksgiving.

I have a Kamado Joe classic. I've spatchcocked my turkey the last three years on it, and it comes out amazing. I cook mine around 375 with the deflector plates in for indirect heat. The birds cook pretty quick like that. Oh I almost forgot to mention I put a pan under the cooking grate with carrots, onions, celery, the backbone, gizzards and some water to make the gravy. If you have any questions ask away.

Last years results.

*REALLY*????? I generally don't smoke that hot, and haven't had any indication that I'd get enough drippings. What the heck.... I'll pick up aromatics tonight, and give this a whirl in my monster tomorrow.
