Anyone fit 4 whole briskets into a 22.5?

Hi there,

I've always been smoking briskets in the 18... 1 per grate and squeezing them in... but if I want to do 4, then I have to do 2 cooks back to back which isn't fun...

Was wondering... has anyone done 4 briskets at once in the 22.5? Just looking at it it looks like it might be able to squeeze them in... maybe needing to jam them in at first just like w the 18...

I don't see why not...you're not doing a comp and even if you were, it wouldn't matter.

Put them on the grate and squeeze if needed. They'll shrink anyway.

I have no doubt you could feed nearly 60 people with a single 22" WSM.
 
I have a uds that uses 22.5 grates and two on a grate is not a problem. There's just as much room or more than squeezing one decent sized one on a little wsm grate.
 
I did 4 whole packers 12 -14 lbs. each over the 4th of July on my 22 WSM and had absolutely no problem fitting them in. They were slightly overlapped but that is of no issue because as they cook and shrink they will separate. I did them with high heat method and they came out great.
The day before the briskets I did 10 Butts on the 22 at the same time total weight about 70 lbs. with no problem and think I could have done another 2 to 4 I did these low and slow took between 12 and 14 hrs.
I also have 2 , 18" WSM's but have only used the 22 so far this year I Love it.
