Anyone bought a gas range lately?

Another wax treatment that works surprisingly well on chrome, stainless and enamel is a wadded up piece of waxed paper, tie cheap and like I say, is surprisingly good. I keep a roll in the linen closet for treating the bathroom faucets.

What is the whining about cleaning black enamel stove tops! For crying out loud it’s the same as a grill lid!
I clean mine with regular dishwater and follow it with Windex, it’s not hard to keep clean, porcelain enamel is GLASS, treat it the same way and you will be fine. I good polish with a virtually dry paper towel will have it shining just fine. Once or twice a month and it looks great. I use my stove HARD so, I’ve dealt with this kind of surface for years. It’s not hard to maintain as long as you really do it once in a while.
My feeling exactly. I don't know what could be easier to clean than a non-porous surface like black enamel.

The stove tops like on my LG POS and most others are not "porcelain" they're plain enamel and they'll scratch if you look at them crosseyed. BTW my range is called stainless steel but also has a black painted cook top. And in case anyone didn't notice I HATE the thing. Still beating myself up 3 years later for buying that $1200 boat anchor

The black enamel top on my stainless range is not hard to clean, but it shows every drip or splatter. The problem I had with a stainless top was that it discolored a little near the heat and grease could burn on. Just as much work to keep clean. Soap and water works well with a couple clear water rinses.

I have found the Member's Mark grill and oven cleaner pretty much "melts" all the crap away and does not damage the top either

I took your advice and tried cleaning off our oven top with Maker's Mark. The oven's still dirty but the kitchen sure smells purdy!

What? Members Mark? Not Makers Mark?
