An American Holiday with Bones, Clowns, Parade & Fun

started with two racks of ribs on the 22" WSM, one beef, the other pork spares

then we hit the Raymond Independence Day Parade,
complete with local Fire Departments displaying their wares...

...and a clown displaying his wares ...

...to nice vintage farm vehicles....

...and finally, Daniel's favourite, Elvis.

Yeah, the Raymond Parade has it all.
and when we returned, a check on the cookin'... everything looks in order...

so, we got the 26"OTG fired up for a few cobs of corn & a coupla atomic buffalo turds

maybe too late....

plated a little bit before the fireworks...

We did John, very much! Thanks!
Umm.. the parade runs ¾ of a mile from the Raymond Volunteer Fire Department to the Raymond School.
The Town of Raymond is basically farmland... there are no stop lights, no "roundabouts", no curbs or sidewalks. Just roads and fields with homes scattered around on acre to many acre lots.
So, the parade was held in Downtown Raymond.

I love small town rural america. Makes me nostalgic for where I grew up. I'd take that parade over any large city independence day celebration. Great looking cook Jim. And I 2nd the post about putting the p1gvilion on a float for next years parade.
