Alder smoked Salmon & Corn

Well, got home and was preparing to fire up the Performer when a HUGE storm blew through. Trees down, my grill cover in the neighbor's yard and the power out...

Finally blew over but the power was still out so I had to get out the emergency power outage kit with enough time to light up the kettle and still have a relatively early dinner.

Salmon glazed with brown sugar and Dijon in a boat of alder chips and some local corn.

Pretty dag-gone good meal...and thank goodness the power is back on so I can sleep in comfort (it was starting to get hot in here)...and see what everyone else is cooking tonight.

Thanks for viewing!!

Hmmm, that is a very intersting way, of cooking salmon, by placing it next to/on top of the wood chips. Did the wood chips smolder? and give the salmon, a nice, smokey taste? The meal looks Great!

Great looking <STRIKE>pink</STRIKE> salmon fish ya got there Don!

Yes. It was really good. The alder was evident but not overpowering. I think it was perfect...and I’m not really a salmon fan.

I knew it! I almost put in the post, “...and yes, Jim. I realize that a true martini is made with gin but I prefer vodka”...You’re a trip!!
