Last week my oldest son brought his lovely wife and two beautiful daughters (our grand daughters) to visit for a week. They left yesterday morning.
We grilled or smoked every single evening meal. Before they got here, I smoked (WSM) a nice Boston Butt for pulled pork:

They arrived Monday evening and we had pulled pork sandwiches, Harvey House Coleslaw, and green beans. It was a home run!!
Tuesday we took them to Costco (they don't have one in their area of North Carolina) and we did some shopping. One of the things we got was a VERY nice filet (whole side) of fresh, wild, Atlantic Salmon. I grilled that on a plank (it just barely fit on the plank) with my favorite salmon rub and in fifteen or twenty minutes after it hit the plank we had a bit of heaven on a board. It was so-o-o-o good. Another WOW! for all. There was just a bit left and the next day we had cold smoked salmon (smoked from the cedar plank) on cream cheese resting on a platform of sliced, toasted French bread. The Salmon was wonderful when hot off the plank and, if possible, it was even better cold. In the future, I will definitely be planning on "overruns" of this succulent dish! We also had boiled red potatoes in their jackets in parsley butter along with a great tossed salad.
Wednesday, we had Pepper Stout Beef on Torta Buns, grilled corn on the cob (this area is known for it's sweet corn), and ice cream and cake for dessert. Again, a HOME RUN (thank you, Larry Wolfe)!
Thursday, I grilled chicken parts on the 22.5" OTG sauced with Orange Marmalade Sriracha Sauce (done indirect and finished on direct). We had sides of oven roasted Cauliflower drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and a very nice tossed salad. This just about rolled their eyes back in their heads (they liked it
, they liked it...). Again, thanks to Larry Wolfe for his great recipe and Cook's Country for their grilling method.
Friday, my son, Shannon, grilled London Broil (Top Round) with sides of potatoes and ABT's and Moinkballs for appetizers. Again, the natives were HAPPY.
Saturday, we had Costco Angus burger patties topped with sweet Vidalia Onions and Maytag Blue Cheese. Sides were tossed salad and and sliced tomatoes. Dessert was grilled Pineapple sticks topped with Vanilla Ice Cream and Lime zest. Another hit with the crowd!!
Sunday, I smoked Costco Loin Back Ribs (Best Ribs in the Universe) and sauced with Sweet Baby Rays (crowd request). The ribs were simply awesome. I grilled Asparagus Rafts and Shannon dusted fresh pineapple slices with brown sugar and Penzy's Cinnamon and marinated them in the refrigerator before grilling. Oh-h-h, RAPTURE!! Grilled Pineapple Slices and again a dollop of vanilla ice cream topped with Lime zest!! I only took a few pictures as I didn't want to bore you:

This presented probably the most work I have done grilling at one stretch. It was a really GOOD experience. My son Shannon helped along the way and our two granddaughters cleared the tables and did all of the dishes along with their mother, Liz, and did a wonderful job. My wife did the sides as this was truly a team effort! We are blessed. I also learned a few things (this seems to happen with every cook I do). This time, I learned that I need skinnier skewers to avoid breaking the asparagus stalks and then need to clip them flush with the last row of asparagus (the sticks get in the way if they stick out). A pair of diagonal cutters will solve that quickly! When doing the smoking, the Maverick 732 certainly earned it's keep.
All in all a VERY nice experience and I was quite lucky in that every night was a "home run". The man up above was certainly looking out for me
Good smokin'!!
