Hi everyone,
I want to share a story with you that makes me feel so good about this Web site and the part that all of us play in helping fellow WSM enthusiasts.
I got an e-mail a few days ago from a woman I'll call "R.Y." She wrote:

I probably bought it in the mid-1980's and had it up for sale (I'd bought an electric smoker) when I came across your Web site. I used the Bullet sporadically with good results, but was never able to figure out how to control the temperature.
Your site was so clear that I pulled it out of the carport and back onto the deck. I'm going to give it another test run tomorrow following your instructions. Thank goodness you saved it from a terrible fate!
Wish me luck tomorrow,

I replied and wished her the best of luck. Here's the message I received this morning:
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR><font face="Verdana, Helvetica, Arial" size="2">Hi Chris,
Well, I can't tell you how ecstatic I am with the results of my cooking session yesterday. Your recommendation of The Renowned Mr. Brown was right on target - this was the best barbecue I've ever made, but most of the credit goes to you and your Web site.
This was the first time that I've ever felt I had any control over the temperatures and the whole process was really quite easy, considering that it was my first time with your method. I hadn't used my SMC in at least 8 years. Thank goodness I didn't sell it! Now, what do I do with my Meco electric smoker?
Kudos to you for the exceptional job you've done with your VWB Web site! I can hardly wait to fire up my bullet again.

I'm so gratified that this Web site has the power to motivate someone to pull an old, dusty WSM out of a carport and into the backyard and gives them the information they need to successfully make good barbecue on their very first try.
I'm feeling a great sense of satisfaction today as a result of this story, and I wanted to share that feeling with you. Thanks for indulging me.
I also want to thank each of you for your participation in this bulletin board. Your generous support of one another through your postings is helping to build an online WSM community that I am very proud to be a part of.
Best regards,
Chris
P.S. I told R.Y. to keep the Meco electric smoker for making beef jerky.
