A little "optimistic" IMO

Yes, I agree. What I want to see is someone who does an all out quality restoration of a classic Genesis and then tries for top dollar. I still don’t think we know the maximum market value of one of the true classic grills with well done wood slats and high quality internals. I like Silvers well enough, but my thought is that the kind of person who would pay a high price for a rehabbed old grill would be more likely to want the “original” classic look.

I like color of the lid. You could put different handle on it. Regardless I see this kind of thing a lot. There was a Spirit 900 up for $180 recently. He's come down a little on price but it's been on craiglist for weeks.

It's hard to say. They did make a color like that one time though. I'm thinking the handle was replaced with the silver handle at some point. Maybe the old one rotted out. If I remember right the color was Genesis 1000 era. That's if it's not a fade red like you say.

I don't think so.

Jeff in MA has the same lid.

Yes sir...

Agree with Jon, never had a problem with selling a classic, but my silver just sat on CL for weeks. Finally sold it to some friends of ours who are die hard charcoal people, but because of our fire restrictions needed a gasser.

The one in the ad I found looks more orange to me. The other from Jeff looks more to the brown side like my Genesis 2000
