I have a question for the 22WSM users on the forum. I foil my water pan and use my stoker, that being said, I was wondering where the people who have the 22 WSM were getting there aluminum foil. I have seen a fair amount however not really any good feedback and quite a bit of price differences. Thanks in advance.

I just use the 18" wide version and fold over a seam in the middle an then fold it again and its leak free. Gives plenty of foil to cover the complete pan. I bought mine from Amazon a few months ago at 500ft x 18" Heavy Duty foil for 21.00 but the price shot up the last month for some reason. Costcos and Sams carry it but they vary on the foil thickness. Mine is very thick but the same roll from Sams was a thinner foil.

I used to use the 18" until I bought the 24" stuff. I'm MUCH happier with the wider roll being able to cover the bowl in one shot. Sure, the 18" stuff gets the job done. But I'm too OCD for that. lol Now, I don't even take the bowl out of the smoker. Everything is wrapped (both sides of the bowl & the clay pot) and in place. Then I take a 2'X2' piece of foil & go over the top and that's what I toss/replace after each cook.
Here was my auction, but I'm sure you can find more. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kings-Chefs...XOEqkTkJtWkQjAcEXng7w%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I use 18" wide aluminum foil. It's wide enough to cover my clay flower pot base. I run 3 pieces, perpendicular to each other, to cover the water pan.

Pretty simple on my end: I don't foil the pan anymore. I can't pay what they ask for a roll of wide foil and the reg heavy duty has to be pieced together so it's more hassle than it's worth to me. I can buy a bag of ten rolls of shop towels for $10 at Costco. It takes 3 to wipe out the pan in like 2 minutes after I scrape the grease out with a spatula. I would probably rather foil the pan but can't justify the cost.

I spent 40 bucks for 500 feet of 24" foil. Now that everything is wrapped, I use 2' of foil (or 4' if I double) per cook. That roll of foil is going to last a long time and clean-up can't be any easier/faster. I was going through 3 times the amount (or more) of 18" foil, so I'm probably $$$ ahead. lol

No foil for 22 WSM water pan here. Usually just clean it out next day after soaking with water for a while. I do foil my broiler pans that I put a rack on for stuff like chicken, small pork tenderloins, briskets, etc. Last March we bought a new roll of the 18 inch by 500 ft. at Costco which I dated the 9th of March, 2012. I was curious as to how long it does last. Still going strong and I usually line my pans at least twice a week and wrap ribs etc.. I suspect within a month or two it will run out.

i use 18" reynolds heavy duty, two sheets over-lapping to cover the bottom, one sheet to cover the majority of the top (with a shallow "pool" to catch the drippings)
a little on two sides that don't cover the top, butt i haven't had any problems yet...
