... ago today, I registered here. Coincidentally, over the past weekend, I was at the same hardware store I bought my WSM back then, For $180 new. They had a lot of high end Weber stuff on the floor, but no WSMs. I guess Home Depot and Lowe's stocking them is probably the reason why not.

I found this site 20 years ago, but did not register to post. I was a regular lurker. But due to this site, I bought my 18" WSM this month in 2002. I bought from Amazon and the order is still in their files. I paid $198 for an 18" WSM. Its still making barbecue.

And I smoked my first brisket not long afterward, which best I can tell, was about the same time Aaron Franklin smoked his first brisket on a cheap New Braunfel's offset. Needless to say, he did a lot more with brisket than I did. Just proves that all men are not created equal.

Congratulations! I didn't notice that my anniversary was November 5 until you posted, so thanks for the reminder. My WSM is one of those $180 ones, too. Best $180 I ever spent.
