Yah, people ask me if I do this for a hobby. I tell them yes. I enjoy doing it and it is a lot cheaper than golf.
I find it exciting and challenging to see how cheap you can pick a grill up for and how big a transformation you can do on it and then how high of a price you can sell it for. At the end of the project whether you keep it or sell it you have something to be proud of that you have deconstructed and reconstructed in your own vision.

Josh,
Do you sell all your Weber Q's with regulator deletes? And are you ever concerned about buyers having a fire and blaming it on the mod.

I don't do it on all my flips. No I'm not concerned about that. We call it a regulator delete but it actually still has a regulator on it it's just a better quality one connected to the hose instead of the barbecue itself.

Yes, I think you make a good point. I too see it as an improvement.
It's definitely not something you have to do if it doesn't need it but I find with a lot of the Q grills I pick up The factory regulators are bad. Making me believe that's kind of the weak point. Also the add-on hose you can buy to adapt a full size tank. Those hoses I've had a few that don't work. So I feel like adding the regulator delete helps to future proof any upcoming issues within reason. Also the regulator delete will allow you to reach higher temperatures which is especially handy in cold weather or wind when it's already challenging to get up to temperature depending on what you're cooking.
