12 BBQ chains ranked from worse to first.

There's a local chain in the Houston area called Spring Creek Barbecue that I go to sometimes. It's pretty solid for a chain restaurant! The meats are good, plus they have fresh rolls and cobbler.

We rarely eat BBQ out, because there's not much out there that I can't do better at home. That said, we have a Mission BBQ within walking distance and, when we're feeling lazy we'll grab some carry out. The sliced turkey and the jalapeno cheese sausage are excellent as well as some of their sides. Some of the desserts are insanely good, especially the bread puddings and cobblers. We both like the "Bay-B-Q" sauce...as a Marylander, how can you not like BBQ sauce Old Bay in it? ;)

There was a Famous Dave’s about an hour away, meh.
It looks like Dickies is going down the drain here, no big loss.
There is a City BBQ but, I’ve never noticed the aroma of smoke when passing so, I think I will continue to pass until a smell something.
Local place “Skinny Kenny’s” is pretty much the same so, I have no use for any of the places and will continue to make my own ‘cue.
My buddy and I have shared these experiences and he feels like minded. “We make much better stuff than those monied corporate yahoos!”
While I would love to find a great "local" place, I personally like City BBQ. I am not saying it is among the best, but I have been happy with most of what I have had there. The one on the west side of Indianapolis that I go to doesn't have the most friendly service, although it is pretty much pay the cashier and then you are on your own there anyway.

All in all, it is sometimes nice to have bbq someone else made, especially when time doesn't allow you to make your own. City BBQ fills that need pretty well for me.

Thanks Jon, I might just have to get some, it’s been very stressful around here lately.
Maybe tomorrow, or who knows!?
Edit…
Maybe later tomorrow is return to rehab after a second bit of surgery, she is so tired of all this!
