CAB beef score

R.I.P. 3/31/2022
A large, local, grocery store chain has CAB chuck roasts on sale this week for $5/lb.
Yikes!
A local independent store has them for $3/lb, so I bought five, some to be ground for chili and burgers.
They also had chuck eye steaks for $6/lb, and I bought 6.
This is $45 worth of beef:

Some of the steaks look like Prime grade to me.

Nice find Bob, those really look good. Our local store had CAB roasts on sale and I picked up a chuck cross rib roast for $3.00 a pound and had it ground up for burgers.
That's my go to meat now for burgers, really good.

Good looking beef Bob. You're a lucky fellow to get packaged chuck eyes. Up here they are strictly a custom cut.

Nice score, Bob!

CAB = certified angus beef? While were on the subject of acronyms, what does COV stand for? I've seen it on pork butts before, but I can't decipher the meaning.

Per another site... "COV on the label means it is packaged in the cryovac bag (the heavy plastic), which is standard when it comes from the major packing houses. This is a good sign that the meat has not been disturbed."

Thank you!
