    Jamie Purviance salted chicken

Sorry if this is the wrong forum (feel free to move if so), but there used to be a video on weber nation with JP grilling/smoking chicken on a kettle where he only used kosher salt. I have used the recipe (or variation of it) many times, but I was talking to a co-worker about it and it does a...

Who Else has a Ranch Kettle?

I had one for a couple of weeks. I bought it with a small ding in the lid for $200 to sell. I was actually hoping it would not sell but I also knew that if I bought it for myself my wife would have killed me. It sold and I made some money but I still wish I had it.

Grilled potato wedges--anyone know how to make them crunchier?

i have never been able to get the same crunch as deep frying, and I don't know that i ever will.M y biggest issue has been the outside getting too done before the inside. I have found that zapping them in the microwave first to get the inside going before they go on the grill helps. Are you...

    siap 2013 22"otg

Yes you are correct but the therm in my performer helped me learn how to grill with charcoal. It was dips and spikes it helped me monitor. Otherwise I would have probably stayed with gas.

    siap 2013 22"otg

Not sure if this has been discussed as I have not been on a lot recently, but I just saw the 2013 22"otg at lowes. Weber has added a therm to the lid similar to the 26". I think it is about time that weber made the change. I know it may not be great to the weber purest but than again, the...

    Is there a market....

I think you made the right choice. There is probably a market for it but it would be a small one. It would take someone who knew what they were getting with Weber and even then I would think it would peak in spring/summer.

In the market for a charcoal grill....

I use them together. Fill chimney, turn on gas & light, go prep for 5 minutes, come back turn off, finish up prep while chimney does the work. Not sure if it is faster but it is a heck of a lot more convenient.

    Which charcoal grill is best?

I do not have both but I do have the performer and love it. But if you are considering BGE I would advise you to look at Primo XL. If I ever buy a ceramic it will be a Primo XL, unless I stumble upon a deal too good to pass up on a BGE or other brand.

    WSM or Kettle

I would vote for kettle/performer but to throw something else out there. Have you thought about the 3in1 that napoleon offers? I don't know anybody that has used one but just thought I would suggest something different.

    pellet grill yes or no

I spoke to a gentleman who has both webers and treagers he knew about how good weber customer service is from experience. He said the treagers had some issues and the first experience was handled very well but the second time he contacted cs about paint peeling on a different one they sent him a...

My wife makes something similar but just uses balled up aluminum foil. Works pretty well.

My platinum Series I has too much flare up

Have you checked to see if maybe the burners need replacing? If so it is a simple fix and a lot cheaper than buying a new grill.

    WSM vs. BGE

Ok, so i have a question. I know ceramics claim less fuel but if the wsm can cook more food at once then is it really that different? I mean if i use a little more charcoal but have twice the food then so what if it isn't as efficient.

    Hello from Alabama!

Welcome Cory. You will learn a lot from reading this forum, I know I have. The performer is an easy transition from gas and you will love it. I am sure you'll be the most popular guy on campus soon. -Lee

    New OTG w/ Thermometer

I personally think weber needs to start making this a standard feature. At least for the otg.

What did I get? Genesis w/ side burner

Check ebay for a lid. There was 3 listed, one was black. It was lightly used but very clean. Shipping and buy it now was around $100 if memory serves me right.

Advise on getting a new gasser

What he said. I wish I had taken a picture the other night when my '09 EP-320 therm was well past 600* closer to 700.
