Have an old ss performer that is getting tired and do not know whether to buy a new one or work on the old one. Also thinking of complimenting the grill situation with a gas grill. What are others doing ??? Bob J

Photo's most helpfull. Will look at this weekend and report back. Notice that the ashcatcher collar is also removed making it all easier. Looks like the same flat screwdriver will work for that. Bob J

Can you elaborate. I still cannot figure out how to get the thing off so I can bend and straighten one of the blades so it does not hit the propane tube every time I clean the ash bin. Bob J

Am having the same problem removing the blades. No wing nut but cannot seem to figure out how to remove the sweeper wings. One of the sweepers is bent upwards and hitting the propane tube. Cannot bend sweeper wing until I can remove to do so. HELP !!! Bob J

Need to know what the hardware pack consists of for the damper blades. Cannot figure out how the blades are attached. I have one blade that hits the propane delivery tube and need to take it off and bend it or purchase another one. Many Thanks Bob J

Probubly a stupid question but when you use the chimney on the performer.....do you or do you NOT use newspaper under the chimney. Bob J

I cannot figure out how the sweep system is attached ? I can move the whole system back and forth a little. It does not hit then. Is the attachment somewhere underneath ???? Can always bend the one wing the just barely hits the tube. Bob J

Doing my first clean of my SS performer. Will definitly need cleaning #2 but all looks much better. I noticed that ash cleaning star hits the propane tube as it moves ashes. Also the one touch does not light the propane anymore. All wires seem to be attached. Any help ???? Bob J

In looking at my records my performer was made in 2003. My ash catcher has no rust but just works with difficulty as I have to kneel down and help it off and on. With a thorough cleaning I will check to see if it needs replaceing or just tweeking. I think I will need a new ignition system as I...

I have always used the baskets for lighting and cooking. A friend (also with a performer) never uses the baskets for any of it...even cooking!!! How about others ???? Bob J

Where does one find the serial number for my old performer. Bob J

Have a late ninties performer that has no rust but seems to be just tired. Ash bucket is a challage to remove and dump as well as the one touch works sometimes and not others. Should I just clean and replace some parts or go with a new one?????? Bob J
