    New Rock Stoker

For what the Stoker can do (and I have one of the original units), I would not trade my Stoker for anything (unless it's a new Stoker with the built-in WiFi).

Protective (Weatherproof) Case For CyberQ or Stoker?

For the Stoker controller and WiFi adapter, I use a plastic Rubbermaid box with a lid that locks down. There is still enough room to run the cords out the top around the sides under the lid (so no holes are cut in the box). I keep a heating pad in there during cold cooks. To protect the Stoker...

    Welcome back Amir!

I for one am glad to see you back on the forum again. We were all starting to worry about you since nobody had heard from you in quite some time. Just curious if you have thought anymore of coding StokerLog for Android platform.

    Wifi Stoker Fan Question

That just seems like a small smoker to need a 10cfm fan. My smoker has a cook chamber of 2' x 2' x 4'tall. I use a 5cfm fan and it's all the fan I need. Even using cherry wood chunks, I still get ash blown into the cook chamber due to very fine ash from that type of wood. But then, I've never...

WiFi Stoker Kit Automatic Temperature Control System

To remove programs from the Startup in Windows 7, run MSCONFIG from the Start | Run line, and on the Startup tab, uncheck the programs you don't want to start automatically.

WiFi Stoker Kit Automatic Temperature Control System

Bill, the more you use your Stoker, the more it will "learn" and be able to dial in your temperature more accurately. I have one of the older non-wifi Stokers and have used it for many years. I've never had a problem with the Stoker but I have had to replace pit probes due to me leaving them in...

First cook with my new Stoker. I have some questions.

The fluctuations early on with Stoker are normal -- it's basically "learning". The more you use it, the more "dialed in" it gets. I've had my Stoker for about 6 years - I use it at home as well as competitions. It's pretty well dialed in now and will usually hold my temps +/- 2 degrees of my...

Has anyone heard from Amir lately?

His last post on here was last September. I hope everything is alright with him.

    Stoker Wifi Adapter

Hi Rhett - I also have an older non-Wifi Stoker. I just use an old wireless router that I set out by the smoker and connect the Stoker directly to it. Then I connect with the laptop to the wireless router to feed data to Stokerlog. I'm not on my normal home network so I can't surf the web, send...

Mobile app question about the pit pal

I was able to update the firmware on my old non-WiFi stoker with the WiFi firmware. I was able to connect a router to the Stoker and connect to it on my Xoom tablet (Android platform) but if I try with my LG phone (also Android platform), it would still keep turning off the phone and starting it...

Mobile app question about the pit pal

Thanks Larry! I've updated the firmware once before (a couple of years ago). So I'm not exactly sure which version I'm running now. But good to know that even the WiFi version will work fine on the non-WiFi units. Looks like it's probably time to update it one more time (if I can remember how I...

Mobile app question about the pit pal

Did they mention which firmware version they used that did work? I have an old Stoker without WiFi and I use a wireless router out by the smoker. I'd love to be able to use the app on my phone or tablet when I don't have access to a laptop to just use StokerLog.

    Melted pit probe

I melted 2 pit probes in the past. You can send them back to Rock's BBQ and they will replace the wiring (I think I was quoted $25-35). I ended up just getting a new pit probe but I kept the old ones to have as a backup (they still work -- they just look creepy with the silicone hanging off).

    Which one to get?!

Another recommendation for Stoker. I have the older version (non-wireless) so at home, I use a wireless bridge to get the Stoker connected to my home network. That way if I go to a friend's house to go swim, I can set up StokerLog to send me text messages every 15 minutes (with the graph)...

    Amazon

Don't know about Guru, but Stoker is only available from Rocks BBQ (unless you buy a used unit from an individual).

    Longer Probes

The 5cfm fan has no problem being run on a 25' stereo headphone extension cable. Just have to make sure to plug the extension directly into the Stoker box and not into a splitter (where the fan extension and temp probes would then be on the same port on the Stoker). But any good stereo...

    Stokerlog Version 6

Amir - any update on the Android app? :) Thank you, Steve

Stoker - Where do you put your Air Probes?

Jeff, have you tested your probes in ice water or boiling water to verify they are correctly calibrated?
