    10 cfm stoker on a WSM 18

Had no issues with my 10 on my 18. Maybe some overshoots and undershoots in certain circumstances but I chalk that up to operator error getting used to the Stoker. I moved the 10 over to my new 22 and purchased a 5 for the 18 to replace the 10. I cook mostly between 275 and 350. The 5 has to...

    spareribs question

I throw it all out. The tips, with lots of fat and cartilage, are not appreciated no matter how tender I get them. They're just too fatty and cartilagy (I made that word up).

    Stoker not tweeting

Not all routers allow address reservation. Mine didn't. My stoker tweeted with dynamic and static IPs. I had to go with static though since accessing my stoker from the internet works smoother if addressing is static. I opened a free account with dyndns to fix my routers ever changing IP...

    Stoker Fan and Splitters/Extensions

Depends mostly on the fan (5 or 10cfm), the length of extension, the gauge wires in the extension and which power supply you're using. The 5cfm I understand is less problematic with extensions/splitters than the 10cfm blower. I tried running a 40' 18AWG 3 conductor wire extension using a 10cfm...

    Stoker not tweeting

My Stoker tweets with static IP set. The key to my problem getting it to work was setting the default gateway in the Stoker as the router IP (192.168.1.1). Having your Stoker set to DHCP will cause problems accessing it when the IP address changes on the Stoker.

    Advice for Stoker newbie

Here's the setup I've settled on to control my two WSMs and monitor my MAK pellet cooker. The Stoker controller sits inside the house in a corner right next to my spot on the couch. I have 3 control cables that run from the Stoker under the house to the backyard deck where my cookers are. A...

Want to hook a Stoker up to a Pellet Grill? Help

With a WSM the Stoker provides the 5V of power needed to run the fan. Will the Stoker provide the AC power needed to run the pellet pit fan/auger/igniter? Having a difficult time visualizing it.

Want to hook a Stoker up to a Pellet Grill? Help

Bill, I assume that since pellet cookers have controllers and some like the MAK have user programable controllers, all the mods to be made to the Stoker and the pellet pit would be to gain remote control over the pellet pit and not much else?

    Keeping the heat down

I agree with Brian. I follow Rocks vent suggestion of top vent 25% open, bottome vent 100% closed and have not had an issue.

Does Use of an ATC affect top vent position?

Bottom vents 100% closed, top vent 75% closed which is Rocks suggestion in their video.

    Advice for Stoker newbie

Mark, Kenny said 4.9v is the lowest they like to see. Bill, the stoker requires 3 conductor wiring for tip, ring and sleeve = pos/neg/ground The stereo TRS jacks/plugs have 3 conductors, the mono has 2 conductors.

    Advice for Stoker newbie

Yes, when I was at Rock's they put my 40' (18AWG) cable and patch box on their bench and plugged in a 10 cfm fan using the high current PS and a couple probes. They ran a test with the fan going off/on and didn't like what they saw. While the fan would power off/on it seemed to studder a bit...

Network settings for Stoker - issue post FW update

Are you setting static IP in the stoker or using DHCP? Subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 Gateway should be set to your routers lan IP which on my network is 192.168.1.1 not 11.1 I set my DNS to all zeros. I have static IP set on my stoker as 192.168.1.2 and set port forwarding 80 to 80 to...

    Advice for Stoker newbie

Thank you Jim and Jeff. I've pretty much decided to go with the 10cfm fan and high current power supply do to the amount of higher heat cooking I do. Kenny at Rocks invited me to bring my 40' cable into the shop (I work close by to their shop) for them to test it before I get my Stoker. The...
