Anyone else experienced fading on your enamel grills? Was doing a spring wipe down of my E330 Genesis and the color appears to be coming off.

Must have just been then 70 degree garage that didn’t allow it to cure property... I’ve sanded it all down and am repainting. Glad temps haven’t dropped here yet. Hopefully can repaint tomorrow after I watch my Royals and say goodbye to Alex Gordon.

I painted this with high heat ultra rustOlem. Let it set for about 7 days and the put this cover on it. It’s been stored in my climate controlled garage for about 5 weeks. Out it out today to deliver and it’s like the paint melted. Maybe a chemical reaction? It’s tacky to the touch and dried...

So I’ve got what Weber has confirmed with me as a pre production 18” WSM. On this I’ve upgraded hardware to stainless steel, new aluminum door and legs. I’m considering putting a probe grommet in. What are your thoughts in this? Would I be ruining the “historical” significance?

She’s done. Need to let my JB Weld and RTV to cure then fire it up for a burn off.

For paint I used Rustoleum High Heat Ultra for all black parts of the grill.

Update. Been off today so made some decent progress. Used the Ospho yesterday let dry and put on the extreme heat JB Weld. Then reassembled the cook box. Stopped for the day to throw stakes my Genesis E330 for dinner.

All now painted. Waiting on my Ospho to arrive from Amazon in order to treat the burner cook box panel prior to reassembling the cook box. Very pleased with how this has turned out.

My game plan is to let the original panel last as long as it can. Treat now with Ospho and extreme heat JB Weld. While it’s out I’m going to make a cardboard pattern/tracing and source a SS fab for the future that I’ll have for when it finally gives out. I throughly believe it’s got years...

All back from the sand blaster. Paint going on today.

I appreciate the honesty but I hate that... There is little to no surface rust so I really hope it’s WAAAAY longer.

Update. Frame has been. Sanded. Painted. Tube supports manufactured/replaced and now reassembled. Just waiting on the cook box and end caps to come back from the sand blaster. 2nd pick is the cook box portion where the burner tubes go. No nightmare scenario from a rust standpoint but there is...

I spent my morning polishing SS. And when you lay out all out like this... It seems like an embarrassing amount of SS, especially for how they are making grills today.
