New Dog Pics - Post Pics Of Your Best Friend!

I posted a picture of my boys back in 2022. Here they are, both turned 5 on Dec 14. Ben & Jerry. Jerry is on the left. I wish they were an innocent as they look. Definitely not for beginners.

    Chicken and butternut squash skillet

I found this recipe online. Recipe calls for cooking in the oven. I cooked it in a CI skillet over JD lump on the performer after browning the chicken over the coals. Prep Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins Servings: 6 Source: asimplepalate.com Ingredients 6 chicken thighs you can use...

Any difference in rotisserie vs on grate?

I use only 1 charcoal basket. Be sure to balance the bird (weight adjustment) Put veggies (partially precooked) in the drip pan to serve with the bird. Figure 60 to 75 minutes for a 4ish pound chicken.

    Cold smoking salmon, second go

100 apologies for not converting the measurements. The Switzerland in you name should have been a clue. I prefer the lower salt in the brine but I do store smoked fish in the refrigerator.

    Cold smoking salmon, second go

You are welcome. The time part came from my best fishing buddy (RIP) many years ago. Haven’t had too salty fish since as salt level concentrates when the fish is dried. Another thing I never skip is the drying step. This IMO is really important to the quality of the finished product. I do...

Induction range - thinking of getting one

One last question if I may. What led you to a Samsung?

Induction range - thinking of getting one

Yeah. Looking at the different induction ranges they had way too many bells and whistles. I do not need or want WiFi, cameras, or an air fry function. I acknowledge that induction costs more but I was ok with that. Does your range make buzzing noises when on high? My DACOR DF range doesn’t...

Induction range - thinking of getting one

Bought an induction burner (Duxtop 9600) to try out the technology. It recognized all my CI, Turns out that my Cuisinart multiclad pro cookware sorta passed the test. The skillets, and (funny enough) the pot lids worked. My saucepans did not work tho slightly magnetic. A quick email to...

    My 1st Po' Boy

I like the cornmeal in the breading, makes for nice crunch with the panko bread crumbs. Next up is a muffuletta! Haven’t made one in a couple of years that I posted here. N

    My 1st Po' Boy

Thanks. As to the remoulade, it’s mostly mayo and Cajun seasoning but worked well. I make all my own bread. It’s a LOT cheaper than store bought.

    New Smokey Joe for 2026

Wow. Good idea. I’ve owned a number of Smokey Joe’s over the years but stopped using them because the coals go out with the lid on. Did this quirk get addressed?
