Genesis II LX Grill or a Summit Grill

Not sure which would do better, but the Summit also has a rotisserie burner, built in rotisserie, and a built in smoker box. The Summit 470 checks all my boxes, but it's just too spendy for me, and with my charcoal grills I don't use the gasser for enough to justify it.

Weber Summit Charcoal Grill - Who has one?

Mine doesn't leak. What I like: it will do anything. Hot and fast, low and slow, high direct heat, high indirect heat, low heat of every kind. It is fuel efficient and comes with all the goodies you need. What I'm not thrilled with: the gas igniter is so-so, useful really only for lighting...

Night Time Grilling - How do you illuminate?

Head mounted flashlight is your friend. You can use lanterns or grill mounted lights, but finally something that always has the light where you're looking is the best.

2018 Spirit II Gas Grill Redesign

I still wonder why NG grills can't come in colors. I'd have bought my Genesis 310 in green had it been available (it's not worth buying the parts new, but if it had been no-cost, sure). I get that they may not want to multiply SKUs, but it's just a simple door/hood swap. The new Spirits look...

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

My schedule is flexible and my home isn't that far away. I can go home to fix it or make other dinner plans.

    ThermoWorks Smoke Review

I went ahead and ordered the wifi gateway. It will free me up a bit when doing longer cooks- I will be able to go to my office or run errands without worrying about what the cooker is up to. I don't think it's necessary for most, but figuring on the longer range (using the phone app) and ability...

    Weber igrill 2 thermometers

I'm not sure I'd recommend it right now. While I have loved mine, the app rework really killed a lot of the functionality that made it great. They're promising to put it back, but it's kind of expensive to trust in promises. Like Dustin, I got a deal on mine at Sam's (I think I got mine for...

    Mold buildup on WSM 22

I had that after my last use. Burned it out (gave a smaller load of charcoal, let it run vents full open until the coals burned out), then cleaned the moldy spots with a scrub brush and water. Let the pieces dry.

    Webers New iGrill app SUCKS!!!!

I haven't used the new app on a cook yet. Guess I'd better try it out before the sale on the Thermoworks Smoke ends.

2018 Spirit II Gas Grill Redesign

I wonder if they had some demand for those models on the 3 burner size. It seems to me that for most families, 2 burners is too small and 4 is too large. 3 burners is about right. With an SE-310 and S-310 to offer they'll have a little more choice for those interested in that size. I'm kinda...

2018 Spirit II Gas Grill Redesign

I'd seen a pic of what was purported to be the new Spirits. Looks like they're taking a page out of the Genesis II book- open design, same burners, etc. I had not seen any confirmation of that, however. Until your post.

Attitude on Weber Summit Charcoal Grill pricing

If you take a BGE XL, nest, deflector, and so on, you're right at the same price Weber has for the (non-GC) WSC. I know a lot of people bemoan that $1500 street price, but if you're looking at the bigger name ceramics (BGE, KJ), you're in the same ballpark for the same size. Where things get...

    Firecraft Summer Sale

My father also had an order cancelled... he had wanted a couple more iGrill probes, so I pointed him to the sale. Out of stock, order cancelled. Makes me wonder just how much of what they were showing for sale they actually had in stock. Definitely leaves a bad taste in one's mouth if their...

Weber Genesis II E-310 LP Black $349 at some Walmarts YMMV

My father was thinking about a new gasser. This would be a sweet one if the prices around here would drop.

Spirit E-210 big enough for family of 4?

I saw a picture in one of the Weber groups I'm in on Facebook- according to the picture, the Spirits will be getting redone along the lines of the Genesis 2. Same burners and ignition as the new Genesis. Now, I have no way of knowing if that pic was genuine- I've seen exactly zero supporting...

    Weber is best briquette

I grabbed 10 bags at Target a few days ago- found it at $9.98 on clearance. I could easily get over double that- doesn't look like the store is sold out yet and there's a few others around at that price. But I have enough that it's becoming a bit of a storage hassle. While I'd love to grab...

    weber charcoal sale

I saw this a few days ago too. I wonder if Weber is dropping the price due to slow sales. At $15 it's still too much to be my primary charcoal (it's good enough and flexible enough to be my only one), but I'd be more willing to use it more often at that price.

Weber Summit 24" Charcoal Grilling Center - $1700

Nowhere near as heavy as a BGE or KJ, but the same size and it insulates very well. And yeah, performance is amazing. You can run it anywhere from low and slow to thermonuclear and fast. It's incredibly fuel efficient too. It's an amazing grill, but yeah, the price is also amazing and not in a...

Weber Grills: Why Do You Have What You Have?

You ever take a good look at yourself and realize you've unwittingly become a fan boy? Yeah, happened to me with Webers. Back when we bought the house I had purchased a Char-Broil gasser. Not one of the super cheap ones, but it was workable, even if I rarely used it. Eventually I realized I...

    Anyone using the Weber briquettes?

I rather like them. You can run them hot and fast or low and slow (I find KBB does the latter better than the former, the Kingsford Pro does the former almost exclusively). They last a good long time too. I'm not sure that it's worth $1/pound when KBB can be had for a fourth of that a few times...
