    Black Box; Ad-hoc network

I think the problem with an ad-hoc network here is that the stoker won't work in that mode, but I would suggest contacting Rock's to be sure.

    Black Box; Ad-hoc network

With this method you do need to connect your pc with the stoker by cable. Both ends need IP addresses or the stoker web page won't work. The wireless will be your internet connection.

Stoker Wi-Fi - Better Than Sliced Bread

Hi Bob, I'm still learning how to use the lid detect. Yes, I think this is a stokerlog feature. However, I've only seen it work the first time during a cook. I"m sure I'm not doing something right. Many times I just turn the stoker off myself for a couple of minutes when I'm in the smoker. Hi...

    Black Box; Ad-hoc network

I think what you want is a private subnet. Hook a cable between your pc and stoker. The pc may have a default IP addr of 192.168.1.1, so you need to give the stoker an address like 192.168.1.2, use a net mask of 255.255.255.0. I hope this helps! :-)

Two Part Question - Rain and Long Cooks

I built a little house for mine, really helps with the wind. Looks kind of like a shortened outhouse, has 6-10" all the way around and a slant roof 18" above the lid. Keeps the rain, snow, and wind off.

Stoker Wi-Fi - Better Than Sliced Bread

Hi Gerd, Just a singe 5 cfm. The blower assignment issue seems to be newly introduced with the wifi support. It seems like interaction between the latest firmware and stokerlog. Others are reporting it as well. Once I knew what happened I kept the status web page open and corrected it from...

Stoker Wi-Fi - Better Than Sliced Bread

I've learned to bring my WSM up to temp within 15 minutes with the Stoker. As someone posted above, it is all about how you light things up. With charcoal I have found that I can light 5, or 7, or 9 briquets and get 225, 235, and 250 respectively. Also, play with lighting the pile from the...

New Stoker Blackbox *OUT OF THE BOX ISSUES*

My stoker's enet port also doesn't show link/act, but it is working. I don't know if the newest models are shipping with the wifi enabled. If so, you should see Connecting with WiFi during boot. If you don't see that, connect your cable and follow the directions for setting up dhcp and wifi...

    WOW! Stoker WiFi Is Here!!!

My stoker is on the outside of my deck, about 15' from the house. I use two wireless access points, one at the router, and another on the second floor. The addition of this second floor access point made a big difference in our coverage around the house.

    WOW! Stoker WiFi Is Here!!!

Nice! The first wireless cook is almost as much fun as the first non-wireless cook with the stoker! :-)
