Has anyone caught wind of "new and exciting" controller updates coming from BBQ Guru? Bob from BBQ Guru was interviewed on the BBQ Central show in early June 2011 and he hinted about some new and exciting updates to be announced within weeks. I have been following the BBQ Guru site and have not...

    Rancher update and request

I sent an email to the Original Charcoal Company asking if the Trader Joes branded charcoal was still the Rancher charcoal, and it is! They are trying to get into Lowes and have asked to drop a note to Lowes in support. I will be doing so! Maybe we can get a movement going Todd

    which one

Clay saucer in original water pan - both foiled. Been a real treat to have to replace the foil instead of messing with a greasy, wet, gross water pan. Plus no need to refill water pan on long overnight cooks. One less thing to worry about. Won't go back. Todd

Minneapolis - Where to find Lump

Patrick, Although not lump, when I travel to MPLS I load up on the Rancher charcoal at Trader Joes. All natural, burns clean, long and with little ash. Price is good as well. They may have it packaged under their label, but look for the all natural charcoal in the tan bag for about $7.99 a bag...

Mr. Brown Recipe - How peppery is it? Any alternative ways 2 limit the pepper?

I find that it is not too peppery or hot, just enough to give it some character. I follow the recipe and do NOT use the southern mop on it. Served it to 300 people for my daughters graduation party in May and it went over very well, judging from the amount that was eaten, checking out the...

    Lid Mod for 2006 model

Just called Weber this afternoon to order the thermometer and bezel that they are including with their new models. Was truthful and willing to pay for this, but once they found out the age of my WSM (2006 era) they told me they could not sell it to me. In fact the lady (who was very nice and...

    BRITU rub on spares?

I have used a variety of rubs on my spares, always come back to the BRITU. Family and I like it the best. This is dusted on not rubbed on. Apply like you would put salt on your french fries. My 12 year old daughter did the prep the other day while I was firing up the smoker and applied the rub...

Just getting ready to order the Procom 4 for my WSM. Have a little disposalable income buring a hole in my pocket. Couple of questions. - 4 or 10 CFM blower? - seems 4 will do the job, any advantage to the 10CFM blower - Why the upgrade option to the additional 6' for the blower. Since both...
